The 100 is back! What should we expect and what characters are returning?

The fourth season of the TV series, The 100 (pronounced The Hundred) began on February 1st, 2017. The TV show is based on the book series called The 100 and is a post-apocalyptic drama series set 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse nearly wiped out the population of Earth.  The show premiered in 2013, and seasons 1-3 are available to watch on Netflix.

The new season includes the remaining cast of Eliza Taylor (Clarke), Bob Morley (Bellamy), Marie Avgeropoulos (Octavia), Christopher Larkin (Monty), Devon Bostick (Jasper), Lindsey Morgan (Raven), Richard Harmon (Murphy), Henry Ian Cusick (Kane), Isiah Washington (Jaha), and Paige Turco (Abby).

According to Den of Geek, there will be a new character introduced in the premiere of the new season. Season 3 ended with Allie being defeated, but in order to destroy her it put Earth in danger of its end. Season 4 will most likely have to do with the cast trying to find a way to save Earth.

The trailer for the new season hints at the same premise of the other seasons; survival. When Clarke asks Jasper in the trailer, “Do you want to survive?” he responds by saying, “No. I want to live.” Season four is going to be about saving people from the radiation and from each other. In the trailer, Allie says that in the next six months there will be no drinking water and 96% of the Earth will be inhabitable. They need to find a way to survive the radiation.

By the looks of the trailer, there will be a lot of action in the new season and many new characters that will be introduced. Skykru will be fighting the grounders again in the new season. Also we will be seeing Zach McGowan (Roan) more often in the new season because he has been upgraded to a regular in the series according to Den of Geek. Many fans are very excited to see the new season, including myself.
