As the students of Prior Lake High School anticipate a total of nine days off of school in the upcoming weeks, the high school’s choir members are still hard at work preparing for their annual Winter Concert.

The 280 students who are involved in Prior Lake High School’s choir program will perform with their respective choirs on Monday, December 19 over the span of two concerts. The first concert will be held at 7:00 pm, in which the Meistersingers, Treble Choir, Concert Choir, and Women’s Chorale will perform. This concert will also feature a select 40 sixth grade choir students who will sing with Concert Choir for one song. The second concert will be held at 8:30 pm, in which the Choralaires, Varsity Men, Women’s Chorale, and Concert Choir will perform.

The top tier ensembles, Concert Choir and Women’s Chorale, will perform at both shows this year, which is a change in comparison to previous years. Besides this change, however, the choir program is excited to continue its tradition of spreading joy through music in preparation for the holiday season.

After two and half months of rehearsal, the large repertoire of the ensembles is anticipated to be both impressive and entertaining.

Those who wish to attend either concert are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes early to buy tickets. The price of tickets for students is $3 with a student I.D., and $5 for adults

In the words of choir director Mrs. Randi Erlandson, all choirs “will have incredible performances on Monday evening,” so be sure to attend.
