Jennifer Lein represents the Prior Lake-Savage community as the Scott County Prior Lake Queen Ambassador.

Jennifer Lein is a Prior Lake High School Sophomore, but not a lot of people know how hard she works and contributes to her community. She has countless hours of volunteering plus added amounts of homework, including school sports and activities.

Q: What extracurricular activities/clubs/sports are you part of?

A: I’m part of the Speech Team, yearbook team, National Arts Honor Society, LIVE, Junior Optimist, swimming, synchronized swimming, and Nordic skiing. I’m also the secretary for ECO team, and I’m the Prior Lake Queen Ambassador.

Q: What gave you the idea to be part of many activities/clubs?

A: Well, I first lived in Colorado and then I moved here to Prior Lake. I didn’t know anyone here, so I wanted to become involved with the community and meet new people and have more friends.

Q: How do you manage your time being part of so many activities?

A: I’m normally a very organized person, so it helps that I can manage my time well to be part of many things as I possibly can. And if I am part of anything, I commit to it. I make myself a promise to make it to most of the meetings or do any projects that they have.

Q: What have you benefited from joining so many things?

A: Being in activities makes me feel like I can talk in front of people and be a better leader for my community.

Q: Who has encouraged you the most to pursue so many activities?

A: My parents have been huge support system for me. Also, my teachers have encouraged me be apart of so many things, especially Mrs. Milne or Mrs. Toeller.

Q: What make you want to join Nordic Skiing?

A: I wanted to stay in shape for synchro season. Nordic skiing will help me gain endurance for synchronized swimming.

Q: What do you do when you’re stressed about everything?

A: I re-collect myself by swimming. It takes my mind off things and relaxes me more.

Q: What has been the most challenging for you in your high school experience?

A: My shoulder injury happened last year in May and got worse over the summer. Once winter season started, I couldn’t take the pain anymore. I had to take a break from swimming.

Q: What has been the hardest activity you’ve been part of?

A: When I joined the speech team, I didn’t know what it would be like so I was very worried. When I first got on the team, I tried writing my speech and I had to rewrite the whole thing. Because of that, that’s why Speech has been the hardest for me so far.

Q: Are there any other activities/clubs/groups you want to be apart of?

A: I want to be part of National Honors Society when I’m an upperclassman.

Q: If you had to choose your favorite thing that you’ve been apart of, what would it be?

A: Oh, that’s hard. I can’t pick between a favorite. Uh, I would say speech or eco team, because I love them both.
