By now, you may have noticed a new video display in the lobby outside the Auditorium. After 71 years, our students have accumulated a lot of trophies, awards and achievements. We don’t have the ability to display everything, so they get boxed up and stored or worse, lost.
The new touchscreen display has three buttons: Athletics, Activities and Tradition. Right now, Athletics and Activities is empty, but they will feature trophies from team sports and activities along with senior recognitions like the Athena, Kemper, Tousignant, and many other Activities awards.
Tradition has been the main focus where Hall of Fame Inductees are being added. Senior Class Composites, Hall of Fame, PLHS building history and yearbooks are also being added. Currently, we have yearbooks from 1953 – 2006 in the system with ’64 and ’65 missing. 2007-2024 will be added once we get more funding to get them scanned. The yearbook section is already a big hit with some staff who are alumni as they were able to share their senior photo with their colleagues.
The best part is that you don’t have to stand in front of this display perusing the features. Aside from a QR code in the bottom of the home page, you can view everything from your mobile device or a computer with this link: PLLakers Display.
This project has been paid entirely through contributions from Prior Lake Optimists Club, PLHS Student Council, Premiere Dance Academy, Laker Athletics Booster Club, Patrons of the Arts and Activities, PLHS Activities Dept. (Concessions) and PLHS Theatre.
