We Checked: Superfans

Every Tuesday morning, Superfans meet to put their ideas and thoughts together for upcoming games. Superfans come up with fun themes for sports like football, hockey, basketball, and track and field.

One goal of the Superfans is to make sporting events eventful, while simultaneously making sure all the students are involved and having a good time. Involving the students can includes tasking them to hold up signs written with chants for the crowd to yell, coming up with cheers to spread around, bringing props to spread among the students, and just going all out.

The Superfans base the game themes off of Prior Lake current events. For example, on a cold Friday night, the theme at the Prior Lake football game was groufit (wear everything grey). This was chosen because the temperature was extremely low, but the fans wanted to continue to support their friends!

A more serious side to being a Superfan is making sure the student sections do not get out of control. Being looked at as a role model for both Prior Lake High School is an important part of being a Superfan.

When next Tuesday rolls around, consider joining the Superfan Club. Spread your creativity in the weekly meetings and we’ll see you in the stands!
